This was a critically aclaimed album of 1995 and arguably Suede’s greatest piece of work. This album is on a par with the best work of bands such as Coldplay and Radiohead and although it did raise their profile it really deserved to make them house hold names. This track has it all, you can almost cut the atmosphere with a knife!

Police fans, you are in for a superb treat this week. Its a super rare track, quaranteed that not many will have heard this one. As you have been having a free lunch the past few weeks, I’m doing something different this week…… I am asking for a 50 cent donation to download this one. The money will be going to a worthwhile cause and not into my hip pocket. Thanks and enjoy! Next week we are back to free Police rare track downloads!

Another band from Manchester, where do they find space in the city to house all these great musicians.? This is a beautiful track of the second album, produced by Phil Spector. Albums like this should be on the music curriculum of every school in the world!

2007 saw Bruce return in fine style again! I thought the album prior to this one “The Rising” would be hard to top but once more he’s managed to pull it off. This single sums up perfectly the state of the music industry!!!

Is this a song about a small boat or a sharp knife? No matter, its a cracker from back in the days when the fashion was high messy hair, dark eyeliner and knee-length tweed coats bought from Oxfam shops. Oh and you should have seen how the girls dressed to!

They have a new album out next week, and I cannot wait. But lets go back to where it all started with their single “Buck Rogers” this was almost a novelty song and so far removed from the sensitive, intelligent songs they write today. All those lyrics about cider in Devon make me quite homesick…!

Proving just how diverse these Mancunians can be and almost re-inveting themselves at the same time The Charlatans produced a wonderful album in 2001 entitled “Wonderland” This track “Love is the key” gives you the impression that they can actually crack a smile!

If your British and you yearn for the days when Brittania ruled the waves and waived the rules then this is a band for you. With a sound as bombastic as the aircrat carrier the Ark Royal and with a punch like a couple of depth charges this is a band who seriously rock!
